Daffodil Days are back!
We are proud to announce that we are once again participating in The American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days! We are asking for your help in fighting the battle that affects so many of us... cancer.
As the first flower of spring, the daffodil represents hope and renewal. To the American Cancer Society, the daffodil symbolizes the hope we all share for a future where cancer no longer threatens those we love. Daffodil Days is one of the American Cancer Society's oldest and most beloved fundraising programs that provides hope to everyone touched by cancer by offering daffodils to donors in appreciation of their contributions. For more than 30 years, Daffodil Days has enabled people of all ages to join the Society’s fight against cancer by raising funds to support groundbreaking cancer research, provide up-to-date cancer information and education, advocate for public health policies that benefit the community, and provide services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
Your support of the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days helps give life and hope to millions of Americans facing cancer. Our lifesaving mission is only possible because of caring people like you.
If you would like to contribute to the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days, please call the Servant's Heart Services office at 574-739-1776. We will be accepting orders until March 6, 2009. The cost is $10 for a bunch of 10 and $15 with a vase. You may also purchase a box case of daffodils (50 bunches of 10) for $500. Daffodils will be delivered right to your door step between around March 15th.

Free Aid For Aging Eyes
We saw this article in PARADE Magazine and thought we should share it:
If the center of what you see is blurry, faded or distorted, you may have age-related macular degeneration. AMD affects more than 10 million Americans and is a leading cause of blindness in the elderly. Early detection and treatment are key. If cost is stopping you, EyeCare America's Senior EyeCare Program may help: It provides a free exam and up to a year of treatment. It's offered to citizens or legal residents 65 or older who have not seen an eye doctor in three or more years and do not belong to an HMO or the VA. To learn more, call 1-800-222-3937 or visit their web site here.
